Òscar Andreu

Oscar Andreu, co-director and scriptwriter of “La competència” on RAC 1 and “La nit dels Òscars” on TV3, together with Oscar Dalmau, will premiere his first stand-up show, written and performed by himself, titled “Crida dels ocells de colors llampants.”

How does a language disappear? What are the symptoms? Why do Catalan speakers behave the way they do? Can the threatened situation be rectified, if it can be rectified at all?

For a little over an hour, the author shares his linguistic biography, the comical adventures of a Catalan-speaking Catalan in the capital of Catalonia, reviews the history of the language, and takes the opportunity to describe a series of very peculiar behaviors typical of most speakers.
